It was announced earlier this afternoon, D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine would be holding a press conference Thursday afternoon and the subject matter will be the Washington Commanders. Some in the media have mentioned potential criminal charges forthcoming for owner Daniel Snyder, but Racine has kept a tight lid on the situation.
The news of Snyder hiring BofA Securities to "consider potential transactions" with the sale of the franchise, could be based on mounting pressure from multiple open investigations against the Commanders owner.
It's all a guessing game at this point, but things seem to be heating up for Snyder. It was the team's reaction to the news, that has made ownership even more of a laughingstock and on par with what fans have seen for over two decades under Snyder.
Team President Jason Wright later followed up to the team's previous press release with some clarification of his own, but the mention of continued frustration with the Attorney General's office, just seems like more of the same nonsense out of Ashburn.
The upcoming Racine presser, will certainly be the trending topic until the teams primetime MNF football matchup vs the Eagles. The press conference could be all about political grandstanding for the Attorney General, but one thing is certain and that is Snyder's time seems to be coming to an end as the owner of the Commanders.
